Biography
A lifelong Kentuckian, I grew up surrounded by the mountains, creeks and forests that continue to stir my soul. Nature is my muse. From a waterside studio I find daily inspiration that fuels my spirit and cascades into my art. Through sculpture, I can express this joy and share my passion for life.

I believe in the power of art--for all people--as a vehicle to communicate, heal and inspire change.

My husband Peter and I live in a Solar Gothic home we designed and built. We share it and 33 wooded acres with our dog, three cats, visiting daughter and the friends and family we love to entertain.

The bluegrass rolls to my front door, an Appalachian foothill has my back. Down the long driveway, to the mountaintop and beyond, forest covers the land. Crows and squirrels chatter while the sweet sound of songbirds fills the air. A wild turkey gobbles in the woods.

From the windows of my studio I observe the mountain and those who pass by. A rabbit nibbles my apple core; Canada geese nest, then seven goslings float on the pond to the east. I am immersed in nature, and the ones who lived here before cautiously share this place with me.

Dappled sunlight floats through trees, renewing my spirit daily. Come evening, the bullfrogs sing, bass voices make me laugh. Fish jump, dragonflies hunt, hawks sail, coyotes howl.

The current of this place flows through my hands into the work. Where I fit is a part of life's mystery.
